Video of the day March 5th 2009 / Hand Carved Animation by Mark Andrew Webber

From Juxtapoz online:

Mark Andrew Webber is a British artist who has been working on a piece based on the word "Dehisce" (definition: [biology] release of material by splitting open of an organ or tissue; the natural bursting open at maturity of a fruit or other reproductive body to release seeds or spores or the bursting open of a surgically closed wound) as part of a project for The Art of Lost Words.
This printed linomation (hand carved animation using linoleum prints), was done using 296 individual pieces of carved linoleum, all of which are a square 10cm each.
The video above shows the linoleum print version, melding all 296 pieces to make one cohesive filmstrip, while the bottom film features the carved version. Mark estimates the entire project took him around 500 hours to complete.

Band practice tonight then who knows.
